No data logged. Kairnet runs on your device. We don't see your projects, your tasks, or your notes. The only time anything leaves your machine is when the app checks for an update, and you can turn that off.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in Kairnet lives in plain files in a folder you choose:
- Your project folder (Markdown task files, documents, attachments).
- A local search index and settings inside your project folder.
- Local log files (rotated automatically, never uploaded).
What goes over the network
- Update check. If enabled in Settings, the app asks our update server whether a newer version exists. No project data is sent. Turn the setting off and the app makes zero outbound calls.
- Installer download. When you click Download on the website, the file is served by our release host.
- Website visits. Normal server logs at our hosting provider.
That is the complete list.
What we don't do
- No telemetry.
- No analytics.
- No crash reports.
- No cookies.
- No tracking, no profiling, no advertising.
Maximum privacy
Open Settings in the app and turn off the update check. The app will then make zero outbound calls. Update manually whenever you want. The app works fully offline.
